A Word From Our Owner

As I have been operating the concrete lifting business over the past several years now, concrete replacement and placing new concrete is something that comes up regularly, maybe every day. I have attempted in the past to include it, having guys I know do the work so I can be a one stop shop for my customers. For me, it never felt right because I didn’t like not being in control over the schedule of people that didn’t actually work for me. If a guy didn’t show up or didn’t do the quality work I had expected it was also a direct reflection on me as well, which was too much for me to stomach.

About a year ago I slowly and organically built a relationship with a group of guys that do concrete work at a high level. They are very professional and think like I do. They spend most of their time doing commercial and high end residential work on several of the homes featured in Parade Of Homes. I liked this as those jobs often require the highest level of expertise and quality. I did a job or two with them and tested the waters if you will. Slowly we have done more and more and the consistency has been great!

So, why not just call these guys or any other concrete company and work with them directly and save money? This is one of my main hurdles as I went into this. I wanted to make sure my pricing was still competitive. The advantage for them is they don’t have to sell as I arrange and manage the project, while they just have to come in and do the work. This way, I get pricing that is competitive with any other company. I always tell my customers to get other bids as well so they can make the right decision.

Price is one aspect of making a decision on who to hire for doing work at your home. Other factors that are important include the following:

  • Do they show up to give a bid and do the work?
  • Is the price reasonable?
  • Can you work with their personality and are they someone you want to work with?
  • Are they trustworthy?
  • Do you think they will get you to the finish line on the project and stand behind the work?

These are all things on the concrete lifting side of the business that has propelled us to where we are today, and we fully intend to extend each of those things as we incorporate concrete installation, removal, and replacement.

Our customers appreciate the education they get along the way and the communication from beginning to end. I hope this personal message finds you well and gives an explanation on how we are operating our concrete division at Landmark Lifting. The economy is pretty crazy, it is hard to get a contractor to call you back, and even harder to find one that will come out and do a good job, and a clean job and image at that! That is my goal in what we are trying to provide.

Concrete Installation

Concrete installation improves your property’s value while also adding functionality for navigating yard space. Make your property beautiful with brand new concrete!

For most jobs, concrete installation takes between 24 and 48 hours, plus curing time. Work begins when Landmark Lifting prepares and levels the site for concrete installation. When the site is ready, forms are constructed to hold the concrete in place. Concrete is mixed and poured into the forms, then the concrete is finished and cured. Once the work is finished, your concrete will need to set, and then you’re ready to use it!

When installing concrete, it’s important to work with an experienced professional to ensure a long-lasting, durable product that will continue to perform as years go by.

Concrete Removal

Although some homeowners take on concrete removal as a DIY process, professionals can get the work done faster and more safely with tools like saws and jackhammers, to break up the concrete before hauling it away.

How long concrete removal takes depends on the thickness of the concrete, and how much needs to be removed. The pros at Landmark Lifting can give you an estimate for the length of time the project will take.

Concrete Replacement

Concrete replacement starts with concrete removal, then ends with new installation. First, the existing concrete is broken up using specialized tools that get the work done quickly. Next, the ground is prepared and leveled for new concrete installation. If the old concrete failed prematurely, this could be a result of improper preparation. That’s why it’s so important to work with a capable contractor throughout this process!

When is replacement better than lifting?

At Landmark Lifting, we usually recommend lifting concrete when the pad itself has shifted or become sunken, but the concrete is in overall healthy condition. Lifting your concrete adds years to its service life, improves safety on your property and also adds to your home’s curb appeal.

Concrete that is badly damaged should be replaced. Whether it’s spalled, cracked, or crumbled, damaged concrete will likely continue to deteriorate as years go by. Lifting concrete that is damaged may not be the best option.

Not sure if your concrete needs replacement or lifting? Call the pros.

If you’re not sure which service is best for your property, consult with the professionals. At Landmark Lifting, we can help you make the best choices for your concrete, so that you can care for your property and maintain safe, easy to use sidewalks and pathways.
